A Stack of Bowls

And so my stack of paper pulp & tea bag bowls has grown.

This one is thick and chunky and
I decorated it with a copy of a drawing I did a few years ago.

I loved the look of the layer or overlapping tea bags in this one,
so I chose not to cover it up with paint.

This bowl has a number of layers of paint on
and I really like the texture on the outside of the bowl.

And this final little bowl is decorated with trees from
a photograph I took a few years ago.

I love when I can use my drawings or photographs in new creations.

These bowls have a final layer of wax that seals and protects them.
They are great for holding collections of stones and sticks
..... not so good for holding soup!

  1. They are simply lovely! I'd love to know your process. Is it difficult? (not that I need MORE things to play with....lol.) :D

    1. Definitely not difficult.... can be time consuming. I was thinking about putting together a 'how to' sheet. I will email it to you when/if I get it done!

    1. Thanks Bridgette! I have been selling them locally, although I have been thinking of re-opening my Etsy shop to sell some there. The problem for me is from where I live shipping costs are pretty high.

    1. Thanks Janine!..... I have been selling them locally, but have been thinking about putting them on Etsy. Although the shipping costs from where I live are quite high, so that makes it harder. Also thinking about putting together a tutorial as lots of people ask me how to make them!

  5. Kim! Make a tutorial and sell it in your Etsy shop. These bowls you made are a treasured piece of art and as such, due to their dimensions will be pricey to mail but you don't have to be apologetic about shipping costs. Just give the option and let folk decide themselves what they consider doable or not. Believe it or not some don't bat an eyelash about shipping. It's expensive no matter what is shipped. It is the cost of living nowadays and is the norm. Nice to see you AND your work my friend. N, xo 💓

  7. Same from me, please email or let me know how and where to find instructions for making these. Absolutely love them! Once again, like in my other more recent post comment, I just don’t “get” the addition of a photo to this kind of art, or on tea bags. SOS. Thanks in advance!
